A fascinating discussion by Rav Yochon
An interesting discussion regarding a debate in how to pay for injury or damage by an animal or a person. If, for example a person causes a fire that creates a damage they are responsible.
The liability is caused by the fire which is separate from you but you own it so you are responsible. You walked away so it’s your liability. Reb Yochon says the fire is like an “arrow” released by you, therefore you caused it and must pay damages to the other person.
