A True Kindness

The Shelah Hakadosh teaches what true kindness means.

Yaakov Avinu says to Yosef before he passes away, “Please do a chessed and emes.” Rashi says it’s a chessed which is an emes - a true kindness.

An altruistic kindness is done with a person who has passed away, because you don’t expect anything back. The Shela explains how we can apply this to the living.
